The WR450F gives you absolute control for ultimate performance on all types of fast, slippery and technical terrain. Equipped with Yamaha's potent 450cc engine and a compact aluminium chassis developed from the MXGP race-winning YZ450F, plus an industry-first anti-theft ECU lock system – the cutting-edge WR450F puts you in charge.
Class leading YZ450F-based engine
Sometimes, there's no substitute for power. The next generation 450cc 4-stroke reverse-head engine is the strongest and most advanced design ever used on a Yamaha enduro bike. Its front-facing inlet, rear slanted cylinder help to deliver more power at all rpm, giving you confidence that you can leave the opposition behind.
High efficency air intake
The WR450F's front facing intake is a unique design that enables the 450cc engine to run at peak efficiency at all rpm. A straight intake port runs directly to the 39mm inlet valves, giving instant throttle response for immediate acceleration when you need it.
Enduro specific disc spring clutch
To handle the increased power of the latest generation 450cc engine Yamaha's engineers have developed a durable and compact one-piece steel clutch with a disc spring that minimizes engine weight and keeps engine width to a minimum. Featuring an optimised enduro-specific design, this durable clutch gives a light pull with plenty of feel – and is designed to handle the extreme conditions of enduro riding.
Lightweight wide ratio 5-speed transmission
To match the most challenging enduro conditions, the WR450F runs with an optimised 5-speed wide ratio gearbox. Featuring gears with increased strength, this durable transmission is ideal for both technical as well as high speed sections.
Compact aluminium chassis
The WR450F's aluminium chassis is developed from the YZ450F that has an outstanding race winning record in MXGP and Supercross. The rigidity of the dual tank rails is optimised to give a controlled level of flex for improved shock absorption. And the WR450F is equipped with enduro-specific engine mounts that give optimum chassis rigidity for improved feel and feedback.
Slimmer and more compact bodywork
Slim, compact, ready to conquer. The WR450F's narrow bodywork shrouds and mid-section offer freedom to move in all riding positions, while the flat seat features a new textured surface for optimum grip under hard acceleration and aggressive cornering.
Uprated KYB suspension
The WR450F is equipped with industry leading KYB speed sensitive front forks and a lightweight rear shock with enduro-specific suspension settings that give excellent feel and feedback. The front and rear suspension is optimised to promote a low centre of gravity for increased low speed control while the front forks feature a hand adjustable compression damping adjuster.
Industry-first anti-theft ECU lock system
The Power Tuner app controls an industry-first anti-theft ECU lock system, unlockable only through the owners' password for added peace of mind out on the trails or in the paddock. A few taps of the screen open the 'Quick Tuning' function enabling you to easily select 'Smooth' to 'Aggressive' engine settings to suit varying conditions.
Optimised ergonomics
The WR450F is a bike that is designed to give you the ultimate control. The rider triangle created by the relationship between the flat seat, footrest position and handlebar mounting location provides idealized ergonomics with easy rider mobility, enabling you to shift your body position rapidly and move your centre of gravity for optimum control when braking, accelerating or cornering.
Full enduro-ready specification
The WR450F comes fully ready for enduro, and features an 18-inch rear wheel, enduro tyres, lighting, instruments, special ECU and a radiator fan. The fuel tank has a capacity of 7.4 litres, and there is a tool-less access to the airbox as well as an engine guard and enduro muffler to complete the enduro specification.
Dynamic Icon Blue colour
With its slim durable bodywork finished in new Yamaha Racing Icon Blue colours with embedded graphics, the latest generation WR450F will look 'factory' whether it's fresh on the start line or caked in the dirt. Lightweight radiator shrouds enhance the bike's strong racing heritage while the colour-coordinated blue front & side plates emphasize its aggressive stance.
