RW700 Explore Features
Built with Adventure DNA
Unrivalled and unapologetic in its stance as the world’s first adventure-capable scooter, the RW700 Explore provides true freedom of movement, whether roaming through the city or tackling off-road paths and changing terrain. Removing limits and borders, the RW700 Explore encourages you to chase your next adventure, whether it’s on- or off-road.
Upgraded adjustable front suspension for added comfort
The RW700 Explore offers premium suspension with its 41mm inverted front fork featuring 15mm preload adjustability and 11-step rebound damping settings, allowing you to create a personalised feel for added comfort, whether you’re commuting or exploring changing terrain. This paired with the bottom-link type monoshock with 155mm travel at the rear with adjustable preload/rebound damping delivers effective impact absorption over rough surfaces to provide confidence, control and versatility.
Heated seat and grips: premium comfort for year-round riding
Premium heated grips and rider seat as standard ensure that changes in weather never put an end to your next adventure. With 10 adjustable settings, they provide added comfort for year-round riding whether you’re commuting, heading off on long journeys or tackling changing terrain.
Torque-rich EU5+ 690cc CP2 engine
At the heart of the RW700 Explore lies true Yamaha DNA with the torque-rich and reliable CP2 engine. Making your heart beat faster with every twist of the throttle, the CP2 engine delivers both fun and excellent controllability, whether commuting or exploring new terrain on daily adventures.
Y-AMT optimised for off-road exploration
Optimised for off-road riding and with redesigned ergonomics for precise control, Y-AMT allows you to choose between manual transmission—shifting gears in just 0.1 seconds using a see-saw switch mounted to the Handlebar—or a fully automatic transmission for comfortable city riding.
Six-Axis IMU and YRC modes for ultimate control
The RW700 Explore boasts the latest technology, combining a suite of YRC modes with dedicated settings for road and off-road riding, with a six-axis IMU hosting various rider aids for optimised riding controllability, allowing you to customise your riding experience.
Versatile riding position for added agility
The RW700 Explore delivers a flexible riding position which grants genuine off-road ability with daily practicality. The front section was designed to not only make it easier to mount and dismount during everyday use but also to allow you to easily move when riding across off-road terrain.
Premium details with backlit switchgear and TEXNATURE design
With premium features at the forefront of the RW700 Explore’s design, backlit switchgear highlights the exceptional quality and attention to detail built into the machine. Specifically introduced for the RW series, TEXNATURE is a concept inspired by the natural riverbeds and sand surrounding Yamaha in Japan. The textures from the natural environment have been incorporated into the exterior bodywork creating harmony with nature, while recycled and biobased components have been used to increase sustainability.
Rugged main stand and spacious underseat storage
A robust main stand as standard on the RW700 Explore provides stable and confident parking abilities even when fully loaded with luggage. The spacious underseat storage contains enough capacity for a full-face helmet* or other necessities when you’re heading on your next adventure. (*Depending on size and shape).
Cruise Control and Speed Limiter
Showcasing the RW700 Explore’s ability to tackle long-distance journeys, cruise control fitted as standard allows you to cruise motorways in comfort. A speed limiter function is also fitted, for times when you just don’t want to creep over the limit.
Full colour 5-inch TFT display with connectivity and navigation
Connect your smartphone to the RW700 Explore’s five-inch full-colour TFT dashboard, with the free Yamaha MyRide app to answer calls and control music while on the go. Full map or turn-by-turn navigation can also be displayed by downloading the free Garmin StreetCross app, so the only time you’ll get lost is when you want to.
Smart Key and auto-cancelling turn signals
The RW700 Explore comes equipped with smart key technology which allows you to start/stop the engine and open/close the seat lock with ease while the key is on your person. For additional comfort when riding, the RW700 Explore features auto-cancelling turn signals. A light press provides a three-flash lane-changing signal, while a full press activates continuous flashing. When sudden braking is detected, the Emergency Stop Signalling (ESS) is activated which turns on both turn-signals at the same time.
