Powerful engine with great flexibility
The YZ450F features a unique reverse-head layout, 39mm titanium intake valves, forged aluminium piston, plain bearing at large end and dry sump. It achieves high combustion efficiency in the low- to mid-rpm range, with ample power higher in the range.
Optimised frame for better control and comfort
The frame features optimised structure and material thickness to achieve ideal torsional behaviour. Rigidity is reduced in response to upward thrusts, while maintaining longitudinal, lateral and torsional rigidity. This results in calm and highly stable front-end feeling, excellent chassis balance and contact feeling, stability in ruts and braking pumps, and less weight transfer.
Excellent feel with hydraulic clutch
The hydraulic clutch offers stable performance and keeps the meshing point constant during continued riding. It provides excellent feel for the meshing point, smooth clutch feathering action and light operation.
Keeping the noise down
The YZ450F meets the latest noise regulations. Its exhaust features a centrally positioned resonator, while the air cleaner also houses a resonator and a duct to reduce induction noise. The muffler’s attachment angle allows easy pick-up at the rear fender.

The YZ450F features a frame with optimised rigidity to ensure a smooth ride, great comfort and a planted feel when riding over bumps and landing jumps. The bike also achieves excellent stability and cornering performance.
Sublime suspension
The YZ450F’s suspension achieves great feel for traction as well as stability. The KYB rear shock is specifically developed for a smoother transition from slow- to high-speed damping. Adding to the versatility is the hand-operated compression damping adjuster.
YZ styling
The YZ450F features light and compact looks. The slim and low race number plate adds to the agile and light looks, while the two-tone side covers emphasise the YZ series’ trademark horizontal lines. The YZ logos and updated graphics mark the bike as part of the race-winning family.
ECU lock anti-theft device
An ECU lock function enables the rider to lock the bike via a smartphone, and the engine can’t be started again until the password is correctly entered on the phone. The function provides a great anti-theft system for a bike with no physical key.
Anti-slide seat
The seat cover material features a honeycomb pattern with a depth and grain designed to reduce the potential of the rider sliding back on the seat during acceleration. The pattern also makes it easier to move forward in the seat.

Power Tuner features a 'Simple Tuning' function that enables you to easily select any engine setting from 'Smooth' to 'Aggressive'.
