The NMAX E’s compact new eAxle power unit combined with efficient belt drive offers up to 104km range* on full charge and delivers a quiet and linear acceleration – making this the ideal urban Sport Scooter. The central location of the 3.5kWh lithium-ion battery gives a low centre of gravity for easy handling and effortless manoeuvrability – and can be easily charged at home or at a Type 2 public charger. The NMAX E brings a whole new riding experience to the iconic MAX Family of Sport Scooters. By blending pure MAX DNA with strong EV performance, this new-generation zero-emission scooter adds another dimension to the Sport Scooter category.
Dynamic and premium design with MAX DNA
Featuring a dynamic and modern body design that is strongly influenced by the thoroughbred MAX Family genes, the NMAX E brings a bold and premium new look to the street. Minimalist dual eye headlights and compact turn signals underline its next-generation image, and the boomerang side motifs confirm its sporty MAX Family heritage.
Compact new eAxle power unit with belt drive
The lightweight and compact new eAxle Drive Unit transmits power to the rear wheel via a silent-running low-maintenance belt drive that ensures optimal efficiency and a super-smooth ride. For maximum riding enjoyment, the eAxle Drive Unit has been fine-tuned to produce the linear and responsive acceleration that makes the NMAX E such a user-friendly and enjoyable Sport Scooter with its own distinctive character.
3.5 kWh lithium-ion drive battery
The NMAX E’s newly developed 3.5kWh lithium-ion battery provides the power to the new eAxle Drive Unit and gives a range of up to 104km from a full charge. To ensure agile handling and easy manoeuvrability, the L-shaped battery is located centrally in the chassis to achieve a low centre of gravity. Convenient on-board charger
This sporty electric scooter is supplied with a convenient 800W fan-less on-board charger located inside the front pocket, ensuring very quiet operation and easy charging. The battery can be charged from 0% to 100% in 5.5 hours at home via domestic outlets using a dedicated cable, and away from home you can charge the NMAX E using an AC Type 2 public charger**. | (**Please refer to the Owners' Manual for precautions on the use of household electrical outlets for charging.)
Generous illuminated underseat capacity
The NMAX E’s special L-shaped battery frees up a lot of internal space, allowing the illuminated underseat compartment to offer a spacious storage capacity. It can handle a full-face helmet – depending on size and shape – or groceries, bags and other personal items.
Spacious and comfortable riding position
Riding comfort is first class on the NMAX E, and with a 1,425-mm wheelbase combined with a long dual seat with a height of 770 mm – as well as a long footboard area – you can find the best riding position to suit your style and size.
Newly developed backbone chassis
Yamaha has developed an all-new chassis for the NMAX E. Its strong backbone frame carries the battery and powertrain centrally to achieve an idealised 50:50 front-rear weight distribution for optimum handling performance. And with minimum ground clearance of 135mm, the NMAX E can smoothly negotiate speed humps, besides having plenty of clearance when leaning through a bend in the road.
Smooth and comfortable suspension
For a smooth and stable riding experience, the NMAX E is equipped with 33-mm diameter front forks that are built to handle a variety of city streets. And combined with the well-padded dual seat, the twin shock rear suspension ensures first-class comfort for both the rider and passenger.
13-inch wheels with regenerative 245mm disc braking system
New-style 13-inch wheels are fitted with a 110/70-13 front tyre and 130/70-13 rear tyre for stable and confident roadholding. Single 245-mm discs are fitted at the front and rear for smooth and effective braking, and the ABS provides added confidence when braking on uneven or slippery surfaces. The regenerative braking system delivers natural and controllable braking that feels similar to the engine braking associated with conventional combustion scooters.
5-inch TFT display with smartphone connectivity
The 5-inch TFT display provides you with a range of easy-to-read information such as driving speed and power output, and automatically switches between daytime and nighttime modes for your convenience. You can also view riding modes, remaining power charge and regenerative charging status – and with smartphone connectivity it’s easy to navigate, stay in touch with friends and family, or play your favourite music.
Three riding modes, TCS and APSG
NMAX E gives you the option of three different riding modes – S, T or E – allowing you to choose from more sporty performance, daily commuting or optimal range. There’s also a Traction Control System (TCS) that gives added riding confidence by helping to prevent rear wheel slip when you’re riding on wet or dirty roads – and the Accelerator Position Sensor Grip (APSG) gives the wireless twistgrip a natural and progressive feeling.
A range of daily conveniences
The front pocket is ideal for storing small items and accommodates a handy USB Type-C port. Keyless ignition enables you to open the illuminated underseat storage area, as well as start the NMAX E when you have the Smart Key with you. And for easy low-speed manoeuvrability when parking, the NMAX E is equipped with a reverse mode function.
