The RW700 commands attention as it introduces itself as the world’s most capable and powerful Adventure Scooter. Engineered with precision, it’s the first true motorcycle-scooter crossover with built-in Adventure DNA, ensuring that performance, adventure and everyday usability coexist without compromise, giving you the freedom to truly reimagine your world.
Real-World Performance
Moving from the city to the forest roads has never been easier, with agile handling and freedom of movement at the heart of the RW700’s chassis design, while the torque-rich CP2 engine works in harmony with the six-axis IMU and customisable YRC modes, allowing you serious control both on- and off-road.
The RW700 bridges the gap between two worlds, enabling you the freedom to ride through the city or hit the trails with nothing standing in your way. With its long-travel suspension and rugged Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tubeless tyres, the RW700 allows you to turn off the beaten path, while a versatile riding position and adjustable footpegs provide maximum comfort and control on all-terrain. It doesn’t just look the part – it delivers real-world performance.
RW700 Features
Built with Adventure DNA
Unrivalled and unapologetic in its stance as the world’s first adventure-capable scooter, the RW700 provides true freedom of movement whether roaming through the city or tackling off-road paths and changing terrain. Removing limits and borders, the RW700 encourages you to chase your next adventure, whether it’s on- or off-road.
Torque-rich EU5+ 690cc CP2 engine
At the heart of the RW700 lies true Yamaha DNA with the torque-rich and reliable CP2 engine. Making your heart beat faster with every twist of the throttle, the CP2 engine delivers both fun and excellent controllability, whether commuting or exploring new terrain on daily adventures.
Y-AMT optimised for off-road exploration
Optimised for off-road riding and with redesigned ergonomics for precise control, Y-AMT allows you to choose between manual transmission—shifting gears in just 0.1 seconds using a see-saw switch mounted to the Handlebar—or a fully automatic transmission for comfortable city riding.
Six-Axis IMU and YRC modes for ultimate control
The RW700 boasts the latest technology, combining a suite of YRC modes with dedicated settings for road and off-road riding, with a six-axis IMU hosting various rider aids for optimised riding controllability, allowing you to customise your riding experience.
High-tensile chassis for agile handling
Engineered for the real world, the RW700 has been built with a backbone-type high-tensile steel tube frame, effectively suppressing chassis movement even on uneven surfaces, allowing you to ride how you like, when you like, with excellent control and stability.
Off-road capable long-travel suspension
The RW700 delivers effective impact absorption over rough surfaces to provide confidence, control and versatility, with its suspension providing 160mm of front wheel travel on its 41mm inverted front fork, paired with a bottom-link type monoshock with 155mm travel at the rear, with adjustable preload/rebound damping.
Adventure-style wheels and rugged tubeless tyres
Featuring lightweight aluminium rims combined with stainless-steel cross spokes, the RW700 wheels deliver excellent rough-road capability while combining confidence-inspiring stability with agile handling. The 17-inch front and 15-inch wheels, together with the Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tubeless tyres, offer you freedom of movement regardless of surface.
Seat designed for real-world riding with spacious underseat storage
Combining sportiness and comfort, the RW700’s seat is designed to allow you to move freely. The versatile riding position lets you transition from seated to standing effortlessly, providing precise handling and grip whether riding on- or off-road. The underseat storage is capable of holding a full-face helmet* or any daily necessities ensuring you always have what you need for any adventure. (*Depending on size and shape).
Four-position footpegs and folding footboards
Four-way adjustable footpegs make riding effortless, with excellent grip when changing from road to off-road terrain, while also allowing you to change their position to suit your own preference. Folding footboards provide added wind protection when in the folded position, while also allowing you to rest your feet in a forward position on longer journeys.
Cruise Control and Speed Limiter
Showcasing the RW700’s ability to tackle long-distance journeys, Cruise Control fitted as standard allows you to cruise motorways in comfort. A Speed Limiter function is also fitted, for times when you just don’t want to creep over the limit.
Smart Key and auto-cancelling turn signals
The RW700 comes equipped with smart key technology which allows you to start/stop the engine and open/close the seat lock with ease while the key is on your person. For additional comfort when riding, the RW700 features auto-cancelling turn signals. A light press provides a three-flash lane-changing signal, while a full press activates continuous flashing. When sudden braking is detected, the Emergency Stop Signalling (ESS) is activated which turns on both turn-signals at the same time.
Full colour 5-inch TFT display with connectivity and navigation
Connect your smartphone to the RW700’s five-inch full-colour TFT dashboard, with the free Yamaha MyRide app to answer calls and control music while on the go. Full map or turn-by-turn navigation can also be displayed by downloading the free Garmin StreetCross app, so the only time you’ll get lost is when you want to.
