It’s industry-leading KYB front forks and rear shock give outstanding traction with plenty of surface feedback – and the slimline bodywork and flat seat enable rapid weight shifting when braking, accelerating and cornering. Slimline bodywork
The YZ250 comes with slimline bodywork that gives this legendary 2-stroke a sharp and athletic look. The narrow fuel tank and radiator shrouds give a compact riding position that enables you to shift body weight rapidly for the highest levels of cornering agility.
Powerful braking system
The high specification front brake set up features a 270mm diameter disc and a rigid twin-pot caliper with large diameter 25,4mm pistons that ensure optimum braking performance. A lightweight 240mm rear disc minimizes unsprung weight reduces weight while delivering instant stopping power with plenty of feel.
Industry-leading KYB suspension
Yamaha’s SSS (Speed Sensitive System) front forks are second to none. The YZ250’s industry leading KYB suspension delivers plush low speed damping for more effective cornering performance, giving you a real advantage. Whatever the type of track, the YZ250’s sophisticated front and rear suspension makes a real difference and gives you the ability to outhandle the opposition.
High-efficiency air intake
The YZ250’s side panels, rear fender, seat base and rear frame have all been specially developed to enhance the flow of fresh air entering the airbox to ensure optimum intake efficiency. Together with a high efficiency exhaust system this system gives you holeshot-winning acceleration and explosive power right through the rev range.
Race-bred ergonomics
With its slim tank, narrow radiator shrouds and flat seat the YZ250 is one of the most agile handling dirt bikes. As soon as you get moving on this legendary 2-stroke you’ll find it easy to shift your bodyweight when braking, cornering or accelerating – giving you a high degree of chassis control.
In-mould graphics and factory style rims
Sporting the eye-catching ‘Icon Blue’ Yamaha Racing colours and graphics, the YZ125 looks the part with its dynamic look completed with in-mould graphics and slimeline bodywork, with factory-style rims completing the race-bike look.
250cc YPVS 2-stroke engine
The YZ250’s outstanding 250cc 2-stroke engine delivers instant power on demand. Equipped with a torque-boosting YPVS (Yamaha Power Valve System) and driving through a 5-speed transmission, this compact and lightweight powerplant loves to race hard.
Lightweight chassis

Dealer Participation and Conditions
The Vehicle Health Check is provided subject to the individual terms and conditions of Raceways Motorcycles.
Raceways Motorcycles may decline to undertake inspection, servicing, or repair work on vehicles that exceed a specified age, mileage, or condition threshold.
Customers are strongly advised to contact Raceways Motorcycles in advance to confirm eligibility and acceptance before applying for a free health check voucher.
Bookings
The free health check is valid until 31st December 2026.
Once customers have entered their details on the online form, customers need to book their health check direct with Raceways Motorcycles.
Bookings days and times are subject to availability and will be confirmed by Raceways Motorcycles with the customer at the point of booking.
Customers will need to present their free health check email (received once the online form is complete) to Raceways Motorcycles on the day of the health check.
Electronic Health Check Compatibility
Motorcycles manufactured prior to 2015 may not be compatible with, or eligible for, an electronic health check due to non-compatibility with the Yamaha diagnostic systems.
Proof of Ownership
Customers may be required to present a valid V5 registration document, or equivalent proof of ownership, together with their health check voucher to Raceways Motorcycles at the time of the vehicle health check, as evidence that they are the registered keeper.
Failure to Provide Documentation
Failure to present the required documentation may result in the authorised dealer refusing to carry out the complimentary vehicle health check.
General
Neither Yamaha Motor nor Raceways Motorcycles shall be liable for any pre-existing damage, defects or faults, or normal wear and tear.
Customers authorise Raceways Motorcycles to carry out the agreed inspection or repair work. Any recommended additional work identified will be communicated and authorised by the customer prior to completion.
Motorcycles not collected within one working day of notification that work has been completed may be subject to reasonable storage charge.
