All racers want to ride a machine that gives them the edge over competition and the best chance of winning. The YZ450F 70th Anniversary Edition does exactly that with its race-winning power and sublime handling. It also comes in the iconic white and red special livery, honouring the long line of winning bikes that Yamaha has produced on the way to creating the latest YZ450F 70th Anniversary Edition.
For winners, by winners.
The YZ450F 70th Anniversary Edition features a new engine that delivers the same race-winning power as before, but now with greater ease of use and a better feel through the new hydraulic clutch. The new frame and updates to suspension ensure a smoother ride, greater feel for traction and a more planted feel over varied terrain, without losing any of the bike's excellent stability and cornering performance.
While paying homage to past winners, the YZ450F 70th Anniversary Edition is a thoroughly modern machine with tech to set it apart from the pack on and off the track. With the Power Tuner app on your phone you can make quick trackside adjustments to the engine character and traction control settings, while the new phone-operated ECU lock keeps your bike safe when you're not riding.
Features
70th Anniversary Edition special livery
The YZ450F 70th Anniversary Edition features a stunning white and red livery inspired by the YZM400F, the first ever 4-stroke machine to claim victories in the Motocross World Championship and in AMA Supercross and paying homage to Yamaha's long and successful racing history. New bodywork adds a modern edge to the looks with the slim and low race number plate, two-piece side covers and the new rear mudguard.
New engine with greater flexibility
The intake system has been revised by changing the intake port and wall surface shapes to achieve optimum flow with a smaller cross-section and create a vertical vortex in the combustion chamber. This increases combustion efficiency in the low- to mid-rpm range, while maintaining the power higher in the range.
New frame for better control and comfort
The new frame features redesigned inner structure and thickness of the downtubes as well as bilateral asymmetric engine mounts to adjust the frame's torsional behaviour. This reduces rigidity in response to upward thrusts, while maintaining the same levels of longitudinal, lateral and tortional rigidity. This achieves calmer and highly stable front-end feeling, improved chassis balance and contact feeling, better stability in ruts and braking pumps, and less weight transfer.
Better feel with hydraulic clutch
New hydraulic clutch replaces the previous wire-operated one to offer a more stable performance and keep the meshing point constant during continued riding. It provides better feel for the meshing point, smoother clutch feathering action and lighter operation.
Keeping the noise down
The 2026 YZ450F exhaust has been made quieter with a centrally positioned resonator and tuning changes, while the muffler’s attachment angle has been lowered slightly to create more space to allow easier pick up at the rear fender. The air cleaner now features an added resonator and duct to reduce induction noise.
Smoother ride and better feel
The new YZ450F introduces a new frame with optimised rigidity to ensure a smoother ride, improved comfort and a more planted feel when riding over bumps and landing jumps. The bike still maintains the excellent stability and cornering performance it is famous for.
Revised suspension settings
Updates to suspension achieve greater feel for traction as well as stability. The rear shock has been newly developed with KYB with a smoother transition from slow- to high-speed damping. There is now also a compression hand-operated damping adjuster.
ECU lock anti-theft device
An ECU lock function enables the rider to lock the bike via a smartphone, and the engine can’t be started again until the password is correctly entered on the phone. The function provides a great anti-theft system for a bike with no physical key.
New anti-slide seat
The new material chosen for the seat features a honeycomb pattern with a depth and grain designed to reduce the potential of the rider sliding back on the seat during acceleration. The new pattern also makes it easier to move forward in the seat.
Power Tuner App for easy tuning
Power Tuner features a 'Simple Tuning' function that enables you to easily select any engine setting from 'Smooth' to 'Aggressive'. A lap timer function allows you to monitor improvements in your performance, and an FAQ section explains the most effective way to select the best engine and suspension tuning for any given situation.
